Harry Kane new investor in Reflo apparel
Harry Kane becomes an investor in the golf clothing brand Reflo, which has made a name for itself in recent years as sustainable performance clothing. The soccer star, who is currently under contract with FC Bayern Munich, is an active golfer himself. With a handicap of 3, Kane is regarded as a thoroughly ambitious player who obviously also has a connection to sustainability. “Being a dad of four children, I am looking at their future and what the world is going to be like when they are older. If I’m honest, the topic of sustainability is still new to me,” he said. Nevertheless, he believes that commitment in this area is important: “Small things can make a big difference.”
Harry Kane, England’s most successful goalscorer, has always worn the clothing, which was introduced in 2021, on private occasions and apparently also bought it himself. He will continue to do this in the future as an ambassador for Reflo when he is out and about on golf rounds outside the soccer pitch.
In addition, Kane apparently became involved as a leading investor when Reflo went in search of future backers in a fundraising campaign. A total of one million dollars was raised, with Kane apparently contributing the largest share.
Reflo’s golf clothing is largely made from recycled polyester, which is produced from plastic waste that was actually destined for landfill. The clothing therefore consumes 50 percent less energy than production with virgin plastic.
It remains to be seen how often Harry Kane will actually be seen wearing Reflo clothing on the golf course in Munich in the coming season. With four small children and a new start in a new city, there was a lot to sort out. His golf game is “average” at the moment, he said. “I haven’t had more than one round with Thomas Müller yet.”
