#Circular economy is a great idea.
It doesn't work when we talk about the golf ball. 😓
On every golf course in the world, an infinite number of golf balls disappear into ponds and streams, are shot into the rough, end up in the ground into the earth - the plastic often stays there for decades. 😓
The industry's approaches to solving the problem are modest to say the minimum, if one disregards lone fighters such as @tomorrowgolf and @biodegradablegolfballs. Even in the packaging of the balls, not a lot has changed for decades. And to be honest: Do we need individually wrapped golf balls or a plastic wrapping around the box of a dozen balls? 😓

What to do?
1. Persistent search: Finding your golf ball prevents it from becoming plastic waste. (Please don't hold up the next player!)
2. Play used and recycled balls: This prevents the consumption of resources from new balls.
3. Golf facilities should consistently have their waters scoured for balls.
3. Golf facilities should only buy reprocessed balls for the driving range.
4. The industry should change ball cartons to recycled material.
5. The industry should avoid single-use packaging for individual balls.
6. The industry should avoid plastic packaging around ball cartons.
7. The industry should use more recycled raw materials to produce balls.

To be honest: The ball problem is pretty disillusioning regarding sustainability. The room for improvement is enormous. It's time to work on it.
