Rough: The term is a bad word for some golfers and some golf course operators.
You won’t find any balls in the rough. Rough delays the flow of the game. Rough is fat and drives the score up. Arguments against Rough are easy to make.
But our pictures show: well laid out rough is designed in such a way that it only comes into play with terrible shots or is so light that you can easily find your balls.
However, rough is – assuming you don’t design it as a simple fat tuft of grass – a visual attraction, increases biodiversity and is fun for the golfer. Enjoy watching and clicking through.
