Galvin Green presents sustainable UpCycle Edition
The Swedish golf clothing manufacturer Galvin Green scores again in 2022 with a collection that emphasizes the topic of sustainability in numerous points. The products that are equipped with the INSULA layer, which consists of 100 percent recycled plastic bottles, are particularly eye-catching. It can be found in a range of sweaters and jackets such as the Drake model (pictured right), which costs 99 euros.
Certification with Bluesign and Oeko-Tex 100
With Galvin Green, however, it is worth looking at the details. All materials used in garments made of Gore-Tex, Insula and all parts of the Ventil 8 line comply with the so-called Bluesign standard . Bluesign is a global textile inspection system that takes into account the entire production process, from the material to the working and living conditions of the workers. The Ventil8 Plus shirt program also has the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 . This means that all the materials used, right down to the individual button, have been tested for harmful substances and are harmless.
Like almost all new clothing, Galvin Green products are packaged in plastic: in this case, however, it is already made from recycled plastic, as are the hangers.
The variety of sustainable production details secured Galvin Green the global Sports Technology Award 2021. The Swedish company has also been cooperating with the GEO Foundation for Sustainable Golf as an innovation partner since 2021. The company says of itself that it follows a holistic approach to sustainability and generally integrates it into every work step. It is also important to minimize the social and ecological footprint of the products.
