Conference “Sustainability in Sport” with Petra Himmel
International experts discuss issues of sustainability in sports. Joining us will be Petra Himmel, founder of Golf Sustainable, who will report next Tuesday on the efforts and challenges of the golf scene to address sustainability at the virtual Sustainability in Sport 2023 conference. “I am very pleased to be able to represent golf here in exchange with numerous other sports,” Himmel sums up. “In the end, every sport can only benefit from this networking with other players.”
The two-day conference is hosted by InSport Education and Global Sustainable Sport. Through a variety of courses, participants will have the opportunity to “learn from industry experts how sports can position themselves to be more sustainable, how sports can further emphasize sustainability while serving as a catalyst for innovation and behavior change.”
Experts from sailing to Bundesliga soccer
In addition to basic courses, for example on the seven basic sustainability pillars in golf or ways to activate people in sports for the topic of sustainability, numerous examples from sports are also brought. Alexandra Rickham, Head of Sustainability at World Sailing, will have her say, as will several representatives of ECO Athletes and Boris Davidovsky, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Dortmund.
The ticket for the two-day event costs 299 euros. Students pay 99 euros. More info on the event can be found here.
