Golf clubs can apply for funding
Attention golf clubs: You can apply for support for nature conservation projects from the FairWays Foundation again this year. The Fairways Foundation is an independent, non-profit 501(c) organization dedicated to supporting and promoting conservation and responsible stewardship in the turfgrass industry and beyond.
The foundation supports large and small conservation projects by awarding funds to successful applicants around the world. Founded in 2019, it has now completed its fourth funding cycle. In the 2023 funding cycle, 19 projects were funded with a total amount of 255,825 US dollars. This brings the total amount of grants awarded since its inception to 697,616 US dollars, with 48 projects supported – in the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe. So there are no national limits.
The FairWays Foundation directly funds local and global projects that promote the conservation of natural resources. In selecting and awarding grants, they pride themselves on a dynamic variety of projects, including a Great Salt Lake Field Trip program, major habitat enhancements and improvements on Pawleys Island in the U.S., invasive plant removal, restoration of calcareous grasslands, planting pollinator gardens with native wildflower species, and much more. For example, the following golf clubs have been supported in the past: Bray GC (Ireland), Hirsala Golf (Finland), Kristianstads GC (Sweden) and Royal Bercuit GC (Belgium).
The 2024 financing cycle begins in February 2024. Here you can find out how to apply: https://thefairwaysfoundation.com/apply/
