This means that the proportion of electric vehicles on site is growing from year to year. In total, the company operates a shuttle service for players and VIPs in Northern Ireland with around 100 vehicles. Ludvig Aberg, who recently became a Mercedes-Benz brand ambassador, also uses an electric vehicle. The 25-year-old Swede drives a fully electric G-Class. However, the S-Class used to transport the Claret Jug as the winner&#8217;s trophy for the champion at the start of the tournament was not an electric model.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fully electric green mowers from Toro<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Toro, another long-standing partner of The Open, also uses electric equipment in many areas of greenkeeping at the tournament. What is new here is that the Greensmaster eTriFlex 3370 model is being used to mow the greens instead of the previous hand mowers. Electric mowers had already been used at the Open Championships in St. Andrews and Royal Troon to mow the greens in order to prevent damage caused by oil leaks on the putting
