They are becoming more and more. The wild boar population in Germany is growing and when a troop of them decides to search for treats on the fairways, the greenkeepers raise the alarm. This is what happened at <strong>GC Schloss Langenstein in Germany<\/strong>, where the<strong> greenkeeping team led by Alexander Buhl<\/strong> became a puzzle team. The 18 wild boars had unceremoniously dug up fairways three and seven at night. The wild boar fence had apparently failed at one point on the extensive grounds of the golf course near Lake Constance in Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg.<br \/>\nIt was not the first time that the animals had chosen the Schloss Langenstein golf course as their target. The work steps reveal why the greenkeepers spent a total of 70 hours on the repairs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First, the shreds of grass that were still usable were sorted out.<\/li>\n<li>Then the edges had to be cleaned and the parts were laid out to fit.<\/li>\n<li>Substrate was distributed into the holes.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, the parts were put together with as few gaps as possible.<\/li>\n<li>Four days about such wild boar problems? Apart from installing a fence, there is not much that can be done in the end. Due to the fact that the number of wild boars in Germany is constantly increasing, they are open to hunting at certain times of the year anyway. After all, they not only cause damage on golf courses but also in agriculture or among wildlife and also transmit diseases.<br \/>\nThe fact is, however, that wild boars are not only omnivores but also very adaptable. Their preferred food includes not only chestnuts, roots, tubers and berries, but also small animals and insect larvae. These can be found on the fairways of golf courses, where, for example, the tipula larvae of the meadow snake lie.
